Volunteer Spotlight

"It is hard to imagine that Kathy Salloum, who brings exceptional credentials in diverse and various areas of business, as well as the creative and healing arts, has time to volunteer at Wellspring Edmonton.  Kathy rarely speaks of her numerous accomplishments, but they are many!  Her extensive skills and talents are illustrated in everything she does and is felt in the kind and compassionate caring she gives to Wellspring members and their families.

When Kathy was asked why she volunteers at Wellspring Edmonton,  she said “I find it is the most rewarding and greatest gift I could have the honour of participating in.”  To date, Kathy has given over 8,000 hours of Reiki to Wellspring members!

After devoting many years in the field of media and public relations, Kathy added a new skill set and became a nationally certified Massage Therapist with a resume that details her extensive training.  It was during this pivotal time in her life when Kathy also learned about Reiki.  Faced with a serious health crisis, Kathy’s interest was piqued at one particularly poignant moment, when someone arrived to give her Reiki.  While she had heard of Reiki, Kathy did not know a lot about the modality. As Kathy began to recover her health, she understood how Reiki could complement traditional medical care and in turn benefit individuals coping with illness.

Wellspring Edmonton is so very grateful to Kathy Salloum for her talent and skill in many areas of business, and her generous spirit which she shares with everyone each and every week."
